You Are the Biggest Bottleneck In Your Business

June 11, 20262 min read

There was a time when I thought being a strong leader meant carrying everything myself.

If something needed to get done, I handled it.

If there was a problem, I solved it.

If something fell through the cracks, I blamed myself for not catching it sooner.

At the time, I thought that level of control was what helped businesses grow. But eventually, I realized something hard:

The business couldn’t grow past my own capacity because everything depended on me.

The way I operated my business drained me.

Desi Williams Motivational Quote

I think a lot of agents struggle with this, especially high achievers. We convince ourselves that nobody can do it as well as we can, so we keep piling more and more onto our plate.

But over time, that mindset becomes the bottleneck. Not because you aren’t capable, but because no business can scale sustainably if one person is carrying all the weight.

One of the biggest shifts in my business happened when I finally opened myself up to support, advice, and collaboration instead of trying to figure everything out alone.

And honestly, Tyson played a huge role in that transformation.

While I was focused on growth, relationships, and serving clients, Tyson became the strategic mind behind many of the systems and operational structures that changed the way Revista Realty functioned behind the scenes. He helped create systems that made the business more manageable, more scalable, and far less reactive.

Instead of operating in constant chaos, we started operating with intention.

And that changed everything not just for me but for the business.

None of the growth we have achieved would’ve been sustainable if I kept trying to do everything myself.

That experience taught me something I wish more business owners understood: Leadership isn’t about proving you can carry everything alone.

Desi and Tyson Williams

Real leadership requires humility.

The humility to admit you don’t have all the answers.

The humility to ask for help.

The humility to trust other people with responsibility.

Because delegation isn’t weakness. It’s leverage.

And often, the thing standing between your current business and your next level of growth isn’t a lack of talent or opportunity.

It’s the belief that you have to do everything yourself. You don’t.

Some of the best things that happened in my business started when I finally let go of that idea.

What beliefs do you think might be holding you back from unlocking growth?
